Urban gardening redefining the art of city living

Within recent years, urban gardening has gained much popularity through the quest of many city dwellers to incorporate nature into this busy and concrete-filled environment. Urban gardening is no longer limited to growing plants but also a movement that's changing the definition of city living; from the rooftops to community plots, this trend offers many benefits that impact individuals and communities collectively. Below we explore just how that has changed the face of urban life.

1. Green Spaces in Dense Places

The first advantage of urban farming is the reintroduction of green space to very populated areas. Cities are composed of buildings, streets, and minimal green spaces, creating disorderly crowds that lead to increased levels of stress amongst the residents and decreased mental well-being. Urban farming energizes the introduction of green pockets into such spaces; hence, taking the residents away from the concrete jungles. Rooftop gardens and vertical gardens and community plots provide an illusion of a natural haven for everyone who does not have a park or his own backyard. This kind of space reduces the heat island effect of the city, making the urban environment pleasant, relaxing, and peaceful.

2. Mental and Physical Well-being
